A significant amount of the wheat stubble generated is set to fire on the fields in India every year. Stubble burning has been reckoned among the major contributors of air pollution causing serious damage to human health and the environment. After harvesting, due to lack of affordable & effective wheat stubble removal mechanism, farmers resort to burning down crop residue in open fields to prepare the land for next crop. The crop stubbles (if managed properly) could provide immense economic benefits to the farmers and protect the environment from the severe pollution.


Hence we at "STRRAW" have come up with this astute & distinct approach of contributing towards the betterment of this situation. We acquire these left over wheat stubble waste form the farmers & turn them into useful products such as eco-friendly 'drinking straws' & 'stirrers'.


With this initiative we are not only preventing the air pollution but are also promoting the reduction in the use of plastic which is turning out to be one of the most hazardous substance for mother earth taking around 200 years to get decomposed. A little step taken at a time will cover miles eventually.

Each piece of "STRRAW" is 100% natural & biodegradable, right from its raw material to its decomposition. They are basically wheat stems a renewable source, which after harvesting usually gets thrown away or burned ( causing air pollution).

WHY "STRRAW"?

Below is detailed comparative study between different kinds of
straws currently available in the market.

Process 

The wheat stubble are stripped & processed to make drinking straws of different sizes.

 

They are further washed properly from inside & outside to remove any dirt or dust.

 

The washed straws are then heat sterilized in the oven at 180℃ to get rid of any microbial contamination.

 

After sterilization the straws are immediately pouch packed "In-house" in a sterilized environment.

 

The final product has shelf life of about 9-12 months.
